Join the association
Whilst we pride ourselves on being a diverse, open and inclusive membership organisation, we are specifically designed to be a community of media lawyers, so there are some criteria you must meet to be eligible to join.
CHECK YOUR ELIGIBILITY
Are you:
A solicitor practising media law 10 years PQE or under;
A barrister practising media law 10 years post pupillage or under;
A trainee solicitor undertaking a media law seat;
A pupil barrister;
A paralegal working within media law; or
A former media lawyer/barrister?
If you meet the criteria and wish to join, please fill in the short application form below.

membership fees
Membership for 2025 will be set at £50.00
For this bargain price, you will have:
Free access to our four flagship social events throughout the year;
Access to our educational / well-being webinars with external speakers being held throughout the year;
Profile raising opportunities - for example, sharing content and achievements with the rest of membership; and
An opportunity to be part of something new and exciting - building your own professional network and making great friends along the way!
Membership fees are charged yearly by way of bank transfer. Memberships will expire and renew on 01 January 2026.
Membership fees will be reviewed from time to time and members will be notified well in advance of any changes.
We understand that many of our members will likely claim the fees back from their respective firms/organisations if possible. However, we also appreciate that some members may not be able to do this or may be self employed. We are also conscious of the on-going cost-of-living crisis which will be affecting our members.
As a diverse, open and inclusive membership organisation, we want as many media law practitioners as possible to join us (subject to eligibility). With this in mind, if meeting the full fee will put you in a difficult position, please do let us know and we will look into providing a reduced rate!
ED&i Statement
Next Generation Media Lawyers is committed to all aspects of equality and we strive to be an inclusive organisation. In particular, we seek actively to further equality and diversity in the field of media law.
Through our network, events, seminars, and work with other organisations, we wish to foster a diverse community where each member feels valued and respected.
As the association begins to grow, we will review how we address these aims. We welcome any contributions and feedback, including as to how to make our events more accessible.
